Special Function Rooms with Staying Power
According to Kermit Baker, AIA Chief Economist, American homeowners are hesitant to add space to their home through special function rooms, however, there are exceptions. It seems that the home office and mud rooms are popular exceptions. Why is that?
Well for one, these rooms can be used for everyday storage. A home office gives you a designated place to keep work separate from the rest of the home, as well as keep all your paperwork and etc. organized and stored. And if ever you decided to put the home up for sale, the room can be used as a bedroom.
The mud room is a room that’s sole purpose is to store the miscellaneous, but that is something everyone needs. However, the mud room is a more stylish option than overcrowding your garage.
What special function rooms would you consider as an addition for your Kansas City home?
