To help celebrate the Fourth of July, we decided to talk a little about the number one residence in the nation, the White House.  The White House is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.

Designed by Irish-born architect, James Hoban, the house was built in the neoclassical style with white-painted Aquia sandstone.  John Adams was the first president to reside in the White House, moving in on November 1, 1800.

According to the official White House website, “There are 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, and 6 levels in the Residence. There are also 412 doors, 147 windows, 28 fireplaces, 8 staircases, and 3 elevators.â€

Take a look at some of the rooms that have inspired a nation.
